The Rundown: Space Ghost faces Metallus for possibly the last time.

With Space Ghost out of the picture, Metallus and his army are laying waste to the Federation planet with Jan and Jace doing everything they can to help the panicked citizens. Unfortunately, Metallus’ forces are getting stronger and their reach is getting longer, but they will discover that there is another threat hiding in their midst.

As Metallus prepares for the final blow of his weapon, an explosion reveals that Space Ghost is still alive and destroying his forces from within. When the kids discover a weakness in Metallus’ army, they go on the offensive and distract him long enough for Space Ghost to emerge. As the two old enemies face off again, the loss Space Ghost suffered at his enemy’s hands might just push him over the edge.

The Story: Pepose fills this story with visual thrills and heart stopping action throughout. This is definitely a darker tone for Space Ghost and the stakes have never been higher. I love how personal the story is for the character and how it takes some great emotional swings for Space Ghost and the kids. The action is intense and the story is beautifully engaging. It brought me to the edge of my seat and I am excited to see what happens next.

The Art: Jonathan Lau perfectly captures the dark, gritty tone of the story with the visuals. Every page and panel is beautifully detailed and just as thrilling as the story.
